Abstract:

Contains completed biographical questionnaires and/or newspaper clippings glued to unlined leaves of paper (28 pages, 18 x 12 inches) for seven San Francisco-born women writers, likely compiled by Emily Parkhurst. Pages are organized by author name and contain newsclippings of their published works. The questionnaires, filled out by the authors, and the attendant clippings show an interest in each woman's origins as a writer, especially as a journalist, and their thoughts on journalism and professional writing as a vocation for women.
